Internet providers in Maryland

We track 10 providers with a footprint somewhere in Maryland: Verizon Fios, Astound Broadband, EarthLink, Xfinity, Verizon 5G Home, T-Mobile Home Internet, Mediacom, Starlink, HughesNet, Viasat. No single one covers the whole state, so the choice at any address is much shorter — check your city for the providers that reach it.

Yes, in parts of the state. Verizon Fios, Astound Broadband, EarthLink, Xfinity sell fiber in Maryland, mostly in and around the larger cities. Fiber gives you the same speed up as down and the lowest latency.

The lowest real cost we track in Maryland is 300 Mbps from Verizon Fios, at $40 a month averaged over two years with equipment and installation included (advertised at $40). Prices last checked September 2026; whether it reaches your address depends on the provider's local footprint.

Verizon Fios sells the fastest plan we track in the state, at 5 Gbps down and 5 Gbps up. Plans that fast are usually only built in the largest markets.

Outside the cable and fiber footprints, the options are 5G home internet (Verizon 5G Home, T-Mobile Home Internet) where the cell signal is strong, and satellite (Starlink, HughesNet, Viasat), which reaches essentially every address. Starlink's low-orbit service has latency low enough for video calls; the geostationary services do not.
